Winter Semester

It has been yet another amazing semester for the club. With Fresher’s week going off with a bang, it was a record-breaking start with new members eager to join the club and over subscribed fresher’s taster shoot. The enthusiasm towards the club has continued throughout this semester with our weekly shooting sessions and events being strongly supported.

The new members brought both experienced shots and beginners, both of which have enjoyed the club, gaining experience and new friendships. We have also had extremely successful socials particularly our fresher’s social at Whistle Stop Barber Shop.

Throughout this semester we have competed in both the Aberdeen and St Andrews Clay Pigeon Competitions. Many thanks to Aberdeen for hosting our first competition of the year where our members enjoyed the friendly competition receiving promising scores. St Andrews, as always, lived up to its fantastic reputation with many of the club shooting and spectating. Due to popular demand of the St Andrews competition we put forward 5 men’s teams and a ladies team. The Men’s 1st Team did great with a score of 158 with the Men’s 4th team closely coming 2 points behind the Men’s 2nd team. It was a fantastic day of shooting followed by a lovely evening with the Welly Ball. Many thanks to St Andrews for hosting the event and for all the university teams that took part.

As we enter into the next semester we have our Edinburgh Bisley Cup and another semester of great shooting to look forward to.

If you haven’t been able to come along yet don’t despair, you can join us for your first shoot, or join our membership for a semester fee of £30. For more information check out our Facebook page and website.
